A UK TOP 10 and GLOBAL TOP 70 University
(SJTU and Times Higher rankings)
The Business School is ranked sixth among UK management schools
(The 2008 Times Good University Guide)
The University of Nottingham began as an adult education centre in 1798 and later became an external college of the University of London based in the centre of Nottingham. The University was granted its Royal Charter in 1948 – making Nottingham the first University to receive a Royal Charter after World War Two.
The University of Nottingham is among the top universities in the UK and continues to earn acclaim as one of Europe’s most respected academic institutions. It is consistently placed highly in national league tables of academic achievement and all of the major university guides, including The Financial Times, The Times, The Telegraph, and The Guardian. The Times has described Nottingham as a prime alternative to Oxford and Cambridge and The Telegraph ranks it as “one of UK’s most prized academic institutions”.
The University of Nottingham has again been confirmed in the intercontinental higher education elite, in global tables published in February 2008.

The Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) ranked The University of Nottingham 9th overall in the United Kingdom.
The other established world universities league table — issued by The Times Higher Education in the United Kingdom — ranks Nottingham 70th in the world overall. |

Nottingham — alongside Cambridge and Manchester — was rated top choice by leading companies recruiting UK graduates in the most recent independent survey for The Times newspaper.
The Sunday Times says “A model of consistent excellence, Nottingham has been ranked between 8th and 12th in every edition of The Sunday Times Good University Guide over the past nine years. It identifies the university as one of the most desirable destinations in higher education with first rate facilities, attractive campuses and the opportunity for some to study at Semenyih near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Ningbo in China, where parallel courses are taught in English.’
The Guardian says “Nottingham is traditionally one of the most popular universities for undergraduate applications. The university offers great facilities and a strong academic record. Popular with overseas students, Nottingham also established new campuses in Malaysia and China.”
The Malaysia Campus
The Malaysia campus is a full
and integral part of The University of Nottingham, UK. It
is led by a senior academic seconded from Nottingham who ensure
that the standard of teaching is the same high quality as
it UK campuses. This means the students receive a genuine
Nottingham education.
Programmes (where relevant)
are identical to those offered at Nottingham after which degree
certificates from The University of Nottingham are awarded,
irrespective of whether the course was undertaken at Nottingham
Malaysia.
