Entry Requirements

Professional Examination Route (PER)

  • 18 years old and above with
  • Minimum of 2 'A' levels and 3 'O' levels passes with credits in English and  Mathematics or
  • Diploma and Degree from a recognized institution in any subject or
  • LCCI - 3 Higher level passes and 2 intermediate level passes (5 separate subjects including English and Mathematics) or
  • Completion of CAT Papers 1 - 5 

Mature Student Entry Route (MSER)

For those who do not meet the PER criteria, you can enter via the Mature Student Entry Route (MSER), you must be over 21 years old. You must pass the equivalent of Papers F2 and F3 (Papers MMA and MFA) within two years from the date of your first eligible ACCA examination session.

Examination and Exemption Regulations

  • Students have a period of 10 years to complete the programme.
  • Examinations are normally held over an 8-day period in June and December of each year.
  • There is no requirement for students to sit and / or pass any of the exams together, including the three Essentials exam in the Professional level.
  • Students may attempt a maximum of four exams within a six month period, including Computer Based Examinations.
  • Students are expected to study each module – Knowledge, Skills, Essentials and Options in order. Papers may be attempted from different modules at the same sitting as long as the modules are attempted in order.
  • All exemptions are subject to final approval by ACCA (UK).
  • All passes in any examination sitting will be retained. Candidates need only to resit for papers failed.

Students will be notified of their student registration status and exemptions, if any, about 3 months after submission of the registration form.

Online Professinal Ethics Module

Students will be required to complete a Professional Ethics module, developed by ACCA. They will be able to apply what they have learned in a case study where they can experience an audit situation from two points of view – that of the auditor and the corporate financial accountant.

Studetns will be given access to the Professional Ethics module as soon as they become eligible to take Paper P1, Professional Accountant. Students are recommended to take the Professional Ethics module at the same time as, or before, the Professional Accountant paper is taken. Students have the flexibility to complete the ethics module at their own convenience. The ethics module is a requirement for students applying for full ACCA membership.

Course Structure

  • Full time and Part time classes are available
  • Classroom-based lectures , with option to enrol for tutorials
  • Classes are conducted once a week per subject, over a period of 4 months, unless otherwise stated
  • Lessons will normally fall on the day specified in the schedules, unless otherwise stated.

Course Materials
Lecture notes, manuals and revision kits are inclusive in the course fees for January and July Intakes.

Manuals and revision kits have to be purchased separately for the Pro-rated and Revision intakes.

SAA will be using study manuals and revision kits published by BPP except the following:

CCH Publisher : F8 manual and P6 manual (Master Tax Guide)
SAA : F3 kit, F4 manual & kit, F6 manual & kit and P6 kit

Computer Based Examinations (CBE)

Introduction

SAA is an approved Computer Based Examination Centre for CAT Introductory and Intermediate Levels and ACCA Papers F1 – F3, MMA and MFA.

ACCA and CAT CBEs are conducted monthly.

All students are required to hold a valid ACCA registration number prior to being allowed to sit CBEs.

Assessment method

Each exam:

Two hours duration
50 questions (40 two-mark questions and 10 one-mark questions)
Out of 90 marks with a pass mark of 50%

6 months Exam Cycle

ACCA offers two six monthly cycles for taking exams.

  • June cycle: 1 February to 31 July (including June paper-based exam session)
     CBE Passes obtained during this period will be credited towards June paper based exam session.
  • December cycle: 1 August to 31 January (including December paper-based exam session)
    CBE Passes obtained during this period will be credited towards December paper based exam session.

In each of the six-monthly cycles, students will be able to sit a maximum of four exams by paper based and/or CBE.

NOTE: This 6 months Exam Cycle is applicable only for ACCA students taking ACCA CBE.

Submission of Exam Entry Form

The official ACCA Exam Entry Form allows ACCA students who wish to sit paper based exams at the immediate exam session to enter for the paper based exams, and also to indicate if they also intend to sit any exams by CBE.

No separate submission of Exam Entry Form is required to SAA.
